![]() Creepvines and Bloodvines require vertical clearance to fully mature: if placed in an Alien Containment less than two stories tall, they will never finish growing. If a plant is not fully grown, it will display its current growth as a percentage, using the same graphic used for the Repair Tool, when the player looks directly at it. ![]() Planting a Creepvine Sample will result in a plant with no seeds, while planting a Creepvine Seed Cluster will result in one with seeds.Įach flora has a different growth time. ![]() After a set number of knife hits a plant will be destroyed and its space in whatever it was planted in cleared.Ĭreepvine is a unique case in that it has two types of "seed" which produce different results. These can then be planted to expand the player's plant collection. In all cases, once a plant is fully grown, the player can harvest it for multiple seeds. In cases where the player can pick up the entire plant (eg Acid Mushroom, Marblemelon) the player can either place the whole plant or its seeds in a suitable structure. Flora with a dark blue item symbol background can only be planted underwater, while those with a green item symbol background can only be planted in bases or on land. Simply discarding seeds or spores on the seabed will never result in their growth.Įach plantable flora takes up a certain amount of slots, and can only be planted in some types of planters. In order to plant them, the player must construct a suitable structure for them, either a Plant Pot, Exterior Growbed, Indoor Growbed or an Alien Containment. While some plants like Creepvine have seeds that can be picked by hand, in order to obtain most types the respective plant must be cut with a knife. You may be looking for Flora.īy planting the seeds, spores, samples or entire specimens of Flora, the Player can either farm useful Raw Materials or decorate their surroundings and Seabases. One of the five Sea Emperor Juveniles can be found here after the Sea Emperor Leviathan Eggs have been hatched. This article is about the Seeds. The Northern Blood Kelp Zone also harbors a Sanctuary Cache, which is located in the deeper areas of the biome.Ī corridor leading to the Lost River is located in the Northern Blood Kelp Zone. There are Salt Deposits and Gel Sacks around some of the bushes. Unique to the Northern Blood Kelp Zone are Crabsquids and a single adult Ghost Leviathan, as well as small " underwater islands" supported by Ancient Floaters and Bloodroots. It features a cavern system located below the Bloodvines where their roots can be found. This zone is considerably larger than the Trench, albeit being more exposed to the surface and not as deep. The Northern Blood Kelp Zone can be found to the north of Lifepod 5, in-between the Northwestern Mushroom Forest, Underwater Islands and Dunes. Two corridors leading to the Lost River can found in this biome. This zone is considered unsuitable to explore with the Cyclops due to the trench's narrow width. In the wild, those fuckers are hard to find, so it helps to grow your own supply. Now you can plant the seeds in an external grow bed and have as many gel sacks as you want. One of the Wrecks can be found in this area, stuck between the trench's walls. All of these suggestions are good, but I would like to add something: when you do find a gel sack, swing your knife at it and harvest some seeds. It consists of a single deep trench with natural rock bridges spanning from one wall to another, and a small cavern system located below the Bloodvines where their roots can be found. The more confined spaces may make it more difficult to avoid them if one is not careful. The Trench lacks the Crabsquids and the Ghost Leviathan of the Northern Blood Kelp Zone, but still has predators in the form of Blighters, Ampeels, and Warpers. The Blood Kelp Trench is located south-west from Lifepod 5, between the Dunes, the Sparse Reef, the Grassy Plateaus and the Sea Treader's Path.
